Not for the first time, England became the victim of upset for the 6th time in the World Cup

ENG vs AFG: Afghanistan cricket team has registered its name in history by defeating England in the World Cup 2023. Batting first, the Afghan team had set a target of 285 runs. But, the England team was all out on the score of 215 and had to face defeat at the hands of Afghanistan by 69 runs. This reversal created a stir in the cricket circles. 1- England was the victim of an upset for the first time in the 2009 T-20 World Cup, when Netherlands defeated the English team. Batting first in that match, England had scored 162/5 runs, in reply Netherlands achieved the target at the loss of 4 wickets.

2- Ireland had defeated England in the 2011 ODI World Cup. Batting first, England had scored 327 runs. But, Ireland achieved the target with 7 wickets in 49.1 overs and England became the victim of an upset for the second time.

3- In 2014, the Netherlands team once again surprised everyone by defeating England in the T20 World Cup. In that match, Ireland set a target of 134 runs, but England was all out on the score of 88.

4- In the 2015 ODI World Cup, England was the victim of an upset for the fourth time at the hands of Bangladesh. Chasing the target of 276 runs given by Bangladesh, the English team could not even bat the entire 50 overs and was all out for 260 runs in the 48th over. .

5- In the 2022 T20 World Cup played in Australia, the Irish team defeated England. Ireland had set a target of 158 runs. But, due to rain, DLS method came into action and England got the target of 111 runs. But the team could not reach the target and England suffered an upset at the hands of Ireland.
